President Biden Affirms Readiness to Compete for US Leadership Amid Health Concerns

A recent report from AFP highlighted concerns over President Joe Biden’s readiness to compete in the upcoming presidential election in November. Biden, 81, addressed these concerns during an interview on ABC, emphasizing his vision and reassuring supporters of his capability to lead.

Reflecting on his debate performance against former President Donald Trump, Biden acknowledged criticism from a Republican representative who suggested his health impacted his performance. Biden admitted feeling unwell during the debate, attributing it to a severe cold.

When asked if his candidacy could harm the Democratic Party, Biden confidently asserted his qualifications for the presidency, dismissing calls for a mental health assessment and affirming his understanding of the demands of the presidency.

Regarding the possibility of stepping down if he felt unable to defeat Trump, Biden humorously remarked that not even divine intervention would sway his decision to continue running.

Biden also disagreed with social media speculation linking debate performance to serious health issues, attributing his performance issues to exhaustion and lack of preparation.
